250 anggota polis Johor dikenakan tindakan tatatertib

KULAIJAYA: Sebanyak 250 pegawai kanan dan anggota polis di Johor dikenakan tindakan tatatertib atas pelbagai kesalahan sejak Januari sehingga Oktober tahun ini, kata Ketua Polis Johor Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff.

  

Katanya, daripada jumlah itu, sebanyak 47 pegawai dan anggota masih ditahan kerja dan 24 orang digantung kerja.

  

"Sebanyak 245 kertas siasatan tatatertib telah dibuka melibatkan sebanyak 290 orang terdiri daripada 24 pegawai kanan, 261 anggota lain-lain pangkat dan lima pegawai awam," katanya dalam sidang media selepas merasmikan majlis Kempen Tolak Rasuah Peringkat Kontinjen Johor 2014 di Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Kulaijaya, di sini, hari ini.

  

Sehubungan itu, beliau berkata satu jabatan baharu iaitu Jabatan Integriti dan Pematuhan Standard (JIPS) telah ditubuhkan pada Julai tahun ini bagi tujuan mempertingkat keberkesanan tindakan penyeliaan, penguatkuasaan, pemulihan dalam menangani salah laku disiplin dalam kalangan pegawai, anggota dan pegawai awam.

  

"Saya menyeru semua pegawai dan anggota supaya sentiasa mengamalkan nilai-nilai murni ketika bertugas terutamanya menolak dan terus membenci rasuah," katanya.

  

Pada majlis itu, 20 pegawai dan anggota yang menolak pemberian rasuah bagi tempoh Januari hingga Jun lepas menerima surat penghargaan daripada Ketua Polis Negara yang disampaikan Mohd Mokhtar.

  

Beliau berkata kempen berkenaan amat bermanfaat kepada anggota polis dalam melaksanakan fokus utama Polis Diraja Malaysia sebagai landasan pembentukan perancangan strategik pasukan untuk memantapkan integriti serta pematuhan standard.

AMPANG: Masalah rumah tangga produser filem Raja Azmi Raja Sulaiman dengan suaminya Mohd Eddie Ghazali tidak dapat diselamatkan apabila kedua-dua mereka sah bercerai talak satu di Mahkamah Rendah Syariah Gombak Timur di sini pada Selasa.

Lafaz cerai dilakukan oleh Mohd Eddie, 46, di hadapan Hakim Syarie, Shaiful Azli Jamaludin kira-kira pukul 3.05 petang.  Shaiful Azli kemudiannya memerintahkan Raja Azmi, 55, menjalani tempoh edah selama tiga bulan bermula dari tarikh lafaz cerai di buat iaitu pada Selasa.

.....Bagaimanapun Eddie kelihatan sebak sebelum membuat lafaz cerai tersebut.

Selepas lafaz dibuat di dalam kamar, Raja Azmi berkata dia berasa lega apabila masalah rumah tangga yang dilalui beberapa bulan lalu akhirnya selesai dengan cara baik.

"Diakui, saya sedikit sedih kerana perkahwinan kedua saya kali ini hanya dapat bertahan tidak sampai setahun pun !!

Raja Azura sudah bercerai talak satu




Raja Azura dengarnya sudah sah bercerai talak satu dengan suaminya, Adzmin Tan Sri Osman pada 28 September yang lalu.. Menurut sumber, Raja Azura berserai di sebuah mahkamah syariah di Selangor dan dilaksanakan dalam prosiding tertutup atas permintaan Raja Azura dan suami.. Punca penceraian raja azura masih lagi belum diketahui.. Kita tunggu la kenyataan rasmi dari Raja Azura sendiri nanti.

Perkahwinan Raja Azura dan Adzmin Tan Sri Osman hanya bertahan selama 10 tahun lebih sahaja dan mereka berdua dikurniakan 3 orang anak iaitu Megat Muhammad Raziq (8), Megat Luqman Hakim (7) dan Puteri Mia Maizurah (4). Harap-harap selepas bercerai ni jangan la buat-buat lupa tanggungjawab dekat anak-anak ye..

Terkejut juga MyGosip dengar berita penceraian Raja Azura ni.. Nampaknya khidmat nasihat kaunseling yang Raja Azura dan suami lakukan dulu tidak mendatangkan kesan pun.

Raja Azura berkahwin dengan Adzmin yang juga anak bekas Menteri Besar Kedah, Tan Sri Osman Arof, pada 10 Mac 2001. Pasangan ini dikurniakan tiga cahaya mata, Megat Muhammad Raziq, 8, Megat Luqman Hakim, 7, serta Puteri Mia Maizurah, 4.Sumber itu berkata, walaupun Raja Azura amat bersedih dengan perceraian itu, dia masih meneruskan tugas rutinnya seperti biasa iaitu sebagai penyampai radio Sinar FM dan pengacara beberapa program TV serta majlis rasmi.

KOMEN:   "Punca penceraian raja azura masih lagi belum diketahui..."  Apa yang perlu diketahui, artis kahwin belanja beribu-ribu, dan segelintir pula cerai pakai sms saja, atau atas sebab remeh-temeh.. dan apabila pemberita bertanya? Jawab mereka "Its complicated !"  Hahahah, complicated atas sebab mereka sendiri, antaranya cetek ilmu agama, tidak ada toleransi dlm kekeluargaan, cemburu buta, tidak hormat suami / isteri... Apa lagi yang baru ???? 

Ternyata kekayaan, kemasyhuran, dan pangkat TIDAK dapat menyelamatkan mereka daripada CERAI. 

HIGH Income Malaysia, BUT the people Remains POOR ?!

PROBLEMS:

1- WHY Malaysia registered HIGH income status?

That's because the economy are controlled by the elite Malays, Chinese and a few elite Indians. And their 'earnings' bloom by the days! The elite consists of 5-10 percent of the population, and they are the ones that actually controlled the economy.

2- The prices of houses are going up rocket, but people still BUY, they must be really RICH ?

NO, no... these houses are bought by the elite rich Malays and Chinese, who have the wealth to do so. Some owning 10 houses or more. While the lower income group could not even afford a single home!  More so for fresh graduated, and Grade 17 civil servants and private sector staff  [Who would be lucky to purchase a home after 10-20 years working and living by renting houses, and saving the small income].

Tun Daim is RIGHT when he said "... for average Malaysians whose wages have remain stagnant for 20 years."  Salary of workers raise too LITTLE or SLOW to counter the HIGH costs of living today. That means, more SPENDING on meals/foods, amenities, paying bills, and LESS savings for the future!  That also means that the lower income group could not BUY a single house, with their little savings [and IF they are lucky enough, or smart enough to save their small income, they would only be able to purchase a home in 10-20 years time].


SOLUTIONS:

1- Please review and restructure the SALARY scheme of civil servant (and also the salary of private sector workers), to reflect the 'developed' country status (i.e. Malaysia as a developed country by 2020, means Malaysia SHOULD offer a first world or 'developed country' salary scheme to its workers).  

2- BUILD more home for the lower income group, QUALITY home please ! The government needs to ensure that only quality houses are built, according to international standards and criteria.

3- Please put more efforts in transforming the public transport system, I would love to take public transport IF only it is more efficient and effective, OKU friendly, the drivers are well-trained, and well-mannered - 'Service with a SMILE' !

High-income status meaningless if people stay poor, Daim says

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 — Achieving high-income nation status will be hollow if most Malaysians still cannot afford their own homes or put food on their table, former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin said today.

In an indictment of the government’s development plans, Daim said the apparent rise in income inequality in Malaysia showed Putrajaya lacked the right policies to grow household income despite boasting of steady growth.

“It is meaningless that in our drive towards a high-income country, many of our brothers and sisters, sons, and daughters, neighbours still earn less than the poverty level.

“It is meaningless to thump our chest and proclaim that we are becoming a high-income developed country, if many of our brothers and sisters cannot afford to own a decent home,” Daim said in his keynote address on the launch of the book “The Colours of Inequality” here.

Last week a joint paper by the Universiti of Malaya (UM) and Khazanah Research Institute revealed that income inequality in Malaysia is worsening despite the national household income survey (HIS) showing the opposite.

The paper titled “Is inequality in Malaysia really going down?” observed that the value of residential property purchased by high-end buyers has grown more rapidly than the property purchased by low-end buyers over the years.

Daim noted today that home ownership has become a major problem for average Malaysians whose wages have remain stagnant for 20 years.

“Financial asset, or a lack of it, is a serious issue. Majority of Malaysians, across all ethnic groups, have extremely limited savings. This exposes them to great risks if emergencies occur.

“Property ownership is a cause for great concern with many Malaysians, especially those below the age of 40... housing has now become a financial asset class; in fact it has become an instrument of speculation, rather than something for us to live in,” he said.

The former finance minister then said the nation’s progress must not be measured solely in financial terms, but also needed to include the well-being of its citizens.

Putrajaya has launched various transformation programmes as part of its bid to make Malaysia a high-income and developed nation by 2020.

According to the government, the country’s gross national income (GNI) per capita has increased from US$7,059 (RM22,860) in 2009 to US$10,060 (RM32,600) last year, leaving the country with six years to hit the US$15,000 (RM48,577) target in 2020.

Ipoh: Polis Perak mengesahkan seorang Pegawai Penyiasat Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah Narkotik Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Ipoh ditahan di Pulau Pinang semalam, kerana memiliki sejumlah dadah jenis syabu.

Pengarah Jabatan Pencegahan Jenayah dan Keselamatan Komuniti (JPJKK) Bukit Aman Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani berkata, pegawai berpangkat Inspektor berusia 30 tahun itu diberkas bersama seorang rakannya dalam serbuan di sebuah rumah pangsa di Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang dan hasil ujian air kencing mendapati kedua-duanya positif dadah.

"Pegawai terbabit adalah Kadet Inspektor yang baharu sahaja melaporkan diri di IPD Ipoh pada Mac lalu.

"Ketika serbuan, polis Pulau Pinang menemui sejumlah dadah jenis syabu bersama pegawai berkenaan serta ujian mendapati kedua-dua tangkapan itu positif dadah.

"Kes kini disiasat Polis Pulau Pinang mengikut Seksyen 39B Akta Dadah Berbahaya 1952," katanya pada majlis penyerahan tugas sebagai Ketua Polis Perak yang kini dipangku Timbalan Ketua Polis Datuk A Paramasivam.

Acryl berkata, Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) memang tidak akan bertolak ansur dengan sebarang bentuk jenayah yang dilakukan oleh pegawai atau anggotanya dan tindakan akan diambil mengikut undang-undang sedia ada.

MAINZ, Germany – A mysterious $30 million reward has been offered for evidence identifying those behind the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine. Fraud investigation company Wifka said in a statement that it had been hired to look into the July 17 attack which brought down the Boeing 777, killing 298 people. 

The private investigators said clients requesting anonymity had offered the reward. Wifka vowed not to identify any whistle-blowers and offered to give informants new identities. The reward for "information and evidence" was being held in Switzerland, according to the firm's statement. The investigators said they wanted to establish facts including who shot down the plane, who gave the order, who covered it up and what happened to the weapon used.

Josef Resch, who runs Wifka, told NBC News on Wednesday that the offer was genuine and that the investigation was in full swing. Wifka advised would-be whistle-blowers "to take great care" and contact them through a lawyer, adding: "Details should not lightly be given away in emails or on the phone." Earlier, Resch reportedly told German financial magazine Capital that he was not fully aware of his clients’ identities, but had held several meetings about the case in different countries and that one of the middlemen had a Swiss accent. 

Resch offered different theories about who his clients might be, including the possibility of mega-rich Russians trying to hurt President Vladimir Putin’s reputation. Their offer was credible, he said, because the company had already received a fee of 40,000 euro (around $51,000). Resch had been promised a fee of 500,000 euro ($647,000) if the investigation proved successful, Capital magazine added.

Who shot down the plane? Some soldiers in the BUK, who were too afraid or naive to say NO.
Who gave the order? Some mad/enthusiatic captain or general of course.
What happened to the weapon used? It was burnt to destroy evidences.

30 MILLION DOLLARS REWARD FOR INFORMATION 

The fraud investigation company Wifka has been charged with investigating the shoot down of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. Their client is providing 30 million dollars as a reward for information and evidence. On July 17 the Malaysian Airlines boeing crashed over Eastern Ukraine on their way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. All 298 passengers and crew were killed.

After the terrible assassination or "accident" all political parties, at home and abroad, said they owed it to the victims, their families and the public to clarify the circumstances of the crash and present evidence for what happened. None of this has yet been done. 

Wifka wants to know:

– Who shot down MH17 on July 17? 
– Who gave the order?
– Who covers up the shoot down? (Also, if it was by accident and not out of political, economic or military motivation)
– Who can provide details on the circumstances that led to the shoot down?
– Who was directly involved with the shoot down?
– What happened to the people that were involved with the shoot down? What happened to the weapon used?
– Who can name the people that cleared the shoot down?

Whoever provides evidence that identifies those behind the shoot down, will be given the reward of 30 million dollars. The money is securely deposited in Zurich, Switzerland. It will be paid there or in a different neutral place of the whistle-blower’s choice.

Kuala Lumpur: Seorang penderma yang tidak dikenali mendepositkan AS$30 juta (RM96.53 juta) ke akaun sebuah firma penyiasatan persendirian Jerman untuk diberi kepada mana-mana pihak yang dapat memberikan bukti dalang yang bertanggungjawab menembak jatuh pesawat MAS MH17 pada 17 Julai lalu.

Menurut Portal Berita The Local edisi Jerman, wang tawaran itu diserahkan kepada sebuah firma yang berpusat di Schleswig-Holstein di utara Jerman iaitu Wifka.

Wifka dalam satu kenyaataan yang disiarkan dalam laman webnya, semalam menyatakan penderma tersebut mahukan kepastian siapakah yang bertanggungjawab dalam memberikan arahan untuk menembak jatuh pesawat itu dan senjata yang digunakan.

Wifka turut memberi jaminan bahawa orang yang mendedahkan kebenaran itu akan diberikan identiti baru sebagai langkah perlindungan.

"Sesiapa yang memberikan bukti dalam mengenalpasti dalang kejadian itu akan diberikan ganjaran sebanyak AS$30 Juta.

Wang hadiah itu kini disimpan di Zurich, Switzerland, menurut kenyataan itu.

How about MH 370, doesn't the government of Malaysia or China wants to give cash rewards of USD20 million for news to the whereabout of MH370 ?

With regards to MH 17, I can already visioned that this case will be closed with result soon. As some soldiers will come out and testified that he was ordered by one general to shoot down MH17, for reasons not mentioned.

Mohd Izhar Aziz, 38, yang menjadi mangsa samun empat lelaki dalam kejadian pukul 8.30 pagi itu berkata beliau dalam perjalanan pulang ke rumahnya yang terletak kira-kira satu kilometer dari tempat kejadian dan terkejut apabila melihat sebuah kereta Kelisa berwarna kelabu terbalik dalam parit.

“Saya melihat dua lelaki melambai-lambai tangan dan seorang daripadanya meminta tolong serta memberitahu bahunya patah. Seorang lagi pula merangkak keluar dari kereta berkenaan dan apabila cuba berdiri, dia terjatuh dan berdasarkan pemerhatian saya, kemungkinan kakinya patah manakala dua lagi rakan mereka tidak mengalami kecederaan.

“Saya dan beberapa pengguna jalan raya di tempat kejadian cuba memberi bantuan kepada mereka,” katanya ketika dihubungi di sini malam ini.

Mohd Izhar berkata beliau kemudiannya menyuruh empat lelaki berkenaan masuk dan berehat di dalam vannya sebelum beliau pergi semula ke arah kereta mereka yang terbalik dalam parit, terletak kira-kira 10 meter dari situ.

“Tiba-tiba saya dengar bunyi enjin kenderaan dan nampak seorang daripadanya memandu van dan memecut laju, tidak sempat untuk saya berbuat apa-apa,” katanya.

Berikutan kejadian itu, Mohd Izhar berkata beliau kerugian RM3,700 dan sebuah telefon bimbit yang diletakkan dalam van itu.

“Saya baharu sahaja membuat pinjaman dengan majikan dan duit RM3,000 itu ingin digunakan untuk perbelanjaan sekolah tiga orang anak saya dan tidak sangka jadi begini,” katanya yang bekerja dengan sebuah syarikat swasta di Seberang Jaya.

Beliau juga tidak menyangka mangsa kemalangan berkenaan merupakan penjenayah kerana sebelum kejadian itu, mereka telah menyamun seorang wanita.

Terdahulu, keempat-empat suspek berkenaan telah menyamun seorang wanita di hadapan rumahnya di Bandar Putra Bertam, di sini dan melarikan beg berisi pakaian, wang tunai dan cermin mata. - Bernama

Behold, the car number plate that is worth more than most cars inMalaysia.

Datuk Lee Chong Wei recently splurged an incredible RM97,777 for the number plate BMW6. This is not the first time car-enthusiast Datuk Lee Chong Wei has spent an extravagant amount on his car number plate. In 2012, he spent RM69,100 on car number plate BLG1 for his Ferrari F430, a monster of a vehicle capable of going from 0 to 100km in 4 seconds.

This, however, was not even the highest bidder on the list. Tengku Sulaiman Shah boasted the highest bid with RM188,100 on BMW5. Even this, however, was nothing compared to MyWatch chairman R. Sri Sanjeevan paid RM174,776 and RM165,000 for car plate numbers BMW8 and BMW 11 respectively, amounting to a total of RM339,776.

To put this in perspective, the MyWatch chairman spent the equivalent of ten Auto Transmission Perodua Axia on a piece of plastic with some words and a number on it. OR if you have really expensive taste, that same amount of money could get you two BMW II6i (Hatch) at the recommended retail price of RM170,800 per vehicle. You could even get a BMW Sedan 328i Gran Turismo for RM329,800 with almost RM10,000 to spare.

This prompted many Malaysians to question his source of income on the social media. When questioned about this purchase, Sanjeevan defended his actions by saying that the purchases were an “investment”. In a statement to The Rakyat Post, he further added that he will be able to auction off the number in the future at an even higher price. In addition, he insisted he was doing this with his personal money earned from other ventures.

to be corrupt, says ex-minister

Tan Sri Zainuddin Maidin claimed the Selangor Menteri Besar was deemed 'useless' by DAP and vouched for Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was because the latter was easier to 'manipulate'.

KUALA LUMPUR, 03 Aug 2014:

Former information minister Tan Sri Zainuddin Maidin has accused the Chinese of being the most corrupt in the country. He said the culture was found in both MCA and DAP and they were the same at the core.

“The Malays do not have enough money to be corrupt. The act of being corrupt among themselves would also be too shameful to bear,” he said in a blog post.

Zainuddin, who was also Utusan Malaysia former group chief editor, said this when explaining why DAP was fuming at Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim’s reluctance to step down from his post, arguing that DAP was not able to profit from his administration.

The hope from the Chinese businessmen from DAP, he said, was that there would be opportunities to make money from the Khalid administration.

Zainuddin went on to claim that opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was previously the nation’s finance minister, understood this strategy very well.

PKR and DAP cronies and supporters, he alleged, hoped for big business opportunities in an economically-vibrant Selangor. Khalid however, Zainuddin said, was professional and incorruptible.

“They hoped that they would benefit just like how Umno, MCA and MIC had when BN ruled the state, but Khalid’s shortcomings as a politician had made him incorruptible and that had disappointed PR leaders.

“Khalid never liked the habit and had stayed away from it, which made him unpopular when he was in Umno.

Zainuddin said Khalid’s performance was the epitome of what PAS wanted in a government and this left the Islamist party confused as to why Anwar had decided to drop Khalid and replace him with Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

He said this was the main fact Khalid was deemed “useless” by DAP and vouched for Dr Wan Azizah was because the latter was easier to “manipulate.”

“She would be easier to use to channel money for political gains using her husband’s expertise in which he had learnt during his time with Umno.

“If BN had done it, what was wrong if PR does it as well as long as they can get Khalid out of the way.”

Khalid, Zainuddin also said, could can no longer be classified as an Anwar loyalist after Wan Azizah was announced as his successor.

Despite pro-Bumi policies, UN report shows inequality growing in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 — Malaysia is seeing growing inequality among its poorest despite pro-Bumiputera affirmative action aimed at narrowing income gaps, with a United Nations report showing slowing consumption among the bottom 40 per cent of country.

The United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) 2014 Human Development Report that was released today showed that consumption growth in the group lagged the general population and was also behind China and Uganda, which were rated as experiencing high or rising disparity.

Aside from the growing inequality, the report also highlighted the unintended consequences of Malaysia’s pro-Bumiputera affirmative action policies in addressing inequality.

“Some observers have critiqued direct measures for being misguided and mismatched to the deeper structural problems that need to be addressed,” said the report.

“For example, the positive discrimination policies favouring the ethnic Malays, or Bumiputeras, in Malaysia over the dominant Chinese and minority Indian populations have improved their access to education and jobs and helped them more fully realise their economic potential.

“Yet Malaysia’s Chinese and Indian minority citizens chafe at 70 per cent quotas in university admissions, flocking instead to private and foreign schools and often staying away from the country,” the report added.

The report noted that approximately one million Malaysians have emigrated as of 2011, many of whom were ethnic Chinese and highly educated, and that the majority of skilled emigrants had cited social injustice as a reason for leaving the middle-income country.

The report will again place the spotlight on the efficacy of the government’s affirmative action programmes, which continue to expand despite criticism of their effectiveness in reaching those who most need the aid.

Last year, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced a revised New Economic Model (NEM) that provided the predominant Malay community access to over RM31 billion in aid and contracts, a move that critics said was a reversal of his promises to roll back race-based policies.

The Najib administration had previously pledged to gradually dismantle the defunct, but still enforced, pro-Bumiputera New Economic Policy (NEP), but had faced fierce resistance from Malay groups.

The UNDP report also placed Malaysia 62nd on the 2013 Human Development Index, far behind Singapore and Brunei that snagged the 9th and 30th spots respectively.

According to the report, Malaysia was ranked last year as a country with “high” human development, while Singapore and Brunei were deemed nations with “very high” human development.

Malaysia beat other southeast Asian neighbours on the 2013 ranking, such as Thailand (89), Indonesia (108), the Philippines (117), Vietnam (121) and Cambodia (136).

Norway was top of the list of 168 countries, while African countries emerging from long-term conflict or are still experiencing armed violence were ranked in the bottom tier.

In 2012, Malaysia was also ranked 62nd.

The Human Development Index is a measure of achievement in three basic areas of human development: a long and healthy life, knowledge and a decent standard of living.

It measures life expectancy at birth, average years of schooling, expected years of schooling and gross national income per capita.

The report also included the Gender Inequality Index, where Malaysia ranked 39th last year.

In the developing country, women held only 13.9 per cent of seats in Parliament last year, while the female labour force participation rate was just 44.3 per cent in 2012.

Singapore fared better than Malaysia by scoring the 15th spot in the 2013 Gender Inequality Index. 

The Gender Inequality Index reflects inequality in achievement between women and men in three areas: reproductive health, empowerment and the labour market.

The Human Development Index - going beyond income

Norway, Australia and the Netherlands lead the Human Development Index (HDI) rankings in 2011, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Niger and Burundi are at the bottom.

Each year since 1990 the Human Development Report has published the Human Development Index (HDI) which was introduced as an alternative to conventional measures of national development. The HDI represents a broader definition of well-being and provides a composite measure of three basic dimensions of human development: health, education and income.

The latest HDI report is from 2011 with emphasis on Sustainability and Equity, titled: A Better Future for All. 
The three Human Development Indicators are: 1. Life Expectancy Index (LEI): Life expectancy at birth (in years); 2. Education Index (EI) Mean years of schooling (in years), and Expected years of schooling (in years), and 3. Income Index (II): Per capita income (PPP $).
Below is the list of countries with a "Very High Human Development" including Barbados (rank 47), followed by three countries with "High Human Development".

Definitions:
Human Development Index (HDI): A composite index measuring average achievement in three basic dimensions of human development-a long and healthy life, knowledge and a decent standard of living. 

Life expectancy at birth: Number of years a newborn infant could expect to live if prevailing patterns of age-specific mortality rates at the time of birth stay the same throughout the infant's life. 

Mean years of schooling: Average number of years of education received by people ages 25 and older, converted from education attainment levels using official durations of each level. 
Expected years of schooling: Number of years of schooling that a child of school entrance age can expect to receive if prevailing patterns of age-specific enrolment rates persist throughout the child's life. 

Gross national income (GNI) per capita: Aggregate income of an economy generated by its production and its ownership of factors of production, less the incomes paid for the use of factors of production owned by the rest of the world, converted to international dollars using purchasing power parity (PPP) rates, divided by midyear population. 

GNI per capita rank minus HDI rank: Difference in rankings by GNI per capita and by the HDI. A negative value means that the country is better ranked by GNI than by the HDI. 

Nonincome HDI: Value of the HDI computed from the life expectancy and education indicators only.

For comparsion, the third table is the UN Human Development Report 2002 updated 2004.
