Johor sultan says will scrutinise new Harapan state gov't
Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has advised the new Pakatan Harapan state government to keep its general election promises, and insisted that he will scrutinise its performance.
In a statement issued on the monarch's official Facebook page, the ruler urged the new government to carry out its duties with honesty and sincerity.
"I will not allow any quarters to betray my state and its people, or try to destroy the unity, prosperity and harmony of Bangsa Johor," he said.
The ruler also urged the new exco lineup to give their full commitment and cooperation to Johor Menteri Besar Osman Sapian.
"If any exco members fail to carry out their duties, I hope the menteri besar will know how to resolve it," he said.
Sultan Ibrahim noted that they are in their positions not to amass wealth, but to serve with integrity, dedication, and fairness.
"The state government must act in accordance to procedure and the law," he said.
The new state government was sworn in earlier today.
